Roles & Permissions
Lygotype has three access levels per form: Owner, Edit, and View.
Permission matrix
| Action | Owner | Edit | View | |---|---|---|---| | Build & edit form | ✓ | ✓ | — | | Change theme & settings | ✓ | ✓ | — | | View responses | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | | Export CSV | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | | View analytics | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | | Manage collaborators | ✓ | — | — | | Delete form | ✓ | — | — |
Owner
The user who created the form. Only one owner per form. The owner has all permissions and is the only one who can manage collaborators or delete the form.
Ownership cannot be transferred. If you need another user to have full control, give them the Edit role and have them duplicate the form.
Edit role
Full access to build, theme, and configure the form, and to view responses and export data. Cannot manage collaborators or delete the form.
Best for: team members who are actively building or maintaining the form.
View role
Read-only access to responses, analytics, and exports. Cannot see or modify the form builder.
Best for: stakeholders who need to review submissions without being able to change the form.
No global admin
There is no global admin role in Lygotype. Access is always scoped to individual forms. A user with Edit access on one form has no special access to any other form.
This is intentional — it keeps permissions simple and auditable. To share multiple forms, send invitations for each one separately.
